Jake and I have a thing for documentaries... Here are a few we've watched recently.

My favorite so far is "King of Kong". It's hilarious. Another cool one is "The New York Doll"... It's about a guy who was in a band and then is converted to the LDS church. I would definitely recommend it! If anyone has any suggestions please let us know!

Lately...

These pictures are so sporadic! Most of them are from Christmas but some were so cute of Max I just couldn't pass them up! Like him in his halloween costume and this one on his horse.

Our baby is now 15 1/2 months! It's amazing to watch his knowledge and vocabulary grow. Jake and I are very blessed, Max makes it easy for us to be wrapped around his chubby little finger. We love him so much.

One of my goals is to try and blog more often, simply for the fact that it's fun to go back and know what was going on in our lives.

Max is at the funnest age right now... He's mimicking things we do and say... I love it! It's also a nice little reminder to be a good example to him.

Jake and I are both staying busy working... Max stays with a sweet little Nanny named Heidi. We absolutely love her and she does such a great job with the Mister.

Lately we've gotten into rock climbing... Okay, we've actually only been once and we are going again today! My friend Katie gave me some rock climbing shoes, and Jake bought me a harness. It's a blast! Pics of that to come soon!

Walking Week

Eleven-month-old Max has been walking around like crazy this week! Jake finally took some video of his new skills this morning at the Church, and now tonight he's doing even better (turning corners and slowing-down his momentum). We are happy, but I get sad when I think he's growing so fast. He came to where I work and was walking around (to impress all the ladies, of course) and I almost started crying! But, we're stoked. Jake can't wait for the adventures they'll have, and I am just glad he's so happy and healthy.

California 2011

Sorry for the picture overload! This isn't even half of the ones that we took. Jake and I went to California last week for Vanessa & Derek's wedding. We spent a total of 8 whole days there and it was awesome! So fun being in the sunshine with loved ones. Trip highlights:

On our way out of town we stopped in LA and went to the MOCA where they had a street art exhibit. It was soooo rad!

It's true when people say that babies grow too fast. Mine sure has!

He is now crawling everywhere and getting into everything!

His favorite things to play with are the DVD player and the outlet plugs.

He LOVES to eat.

He loves to hold onto anything he can and stand up.

He is wearing 12-18 month clothes.

He loves when mama or daddy come to get him in the morning.

He has his two front teeth and two bottom teeth, and they are sharp!

He loves to be naked!

He loves to lounge in the tub.

He loves to give kisses.

He is definitely a manly little baby... nothing feminine about my Max.

He loves going on adventures with Daddy.

In his 8 months of life he has already been on a helicopter ride, skied the mountains, hiked the Y, gone on road trips, flown on planes, toured big cities, been swimming... the list goes on!

I love my little Mister, Jake is obsessed with him, and we are looking forward to many more adventures!

Last weekend my friend Tara and I went on a girls trip... Where'd we go? Only to one of the most exotic locations ever... SALT LAKE CITY! But really it was a lot of fun. We tried on a lot of hats, ate dinner at a place called The Blue Iguana, shopped, went and saw a movie, stayed in a hotel, ate breakfast at the market street grill, did a little more shopping and then returned to our wonderful fams.

Some other things:

-Jake has been on a very strict diet since February (he's lost 42 pounds) and today he is DONE and can eat like a normal person. We're going to celebrate BIG by going to the Pizza Pie Cafe. All you can eat pizza, pasta, salad and dessert... It's gonna get crazy! I'll post his before and after pics (if he'll let me)

-We're going to Southern Cali for Vanessa wedding in approximately 21 days. So excited to be in the sunshine and with family.

-Max has been scooting all over the place, but last night he officially crawled! He can also give me kisses which I am stoked about. Love my baby.

After Jake's graduation last week we went to The Homestead in Midway for dinner... We toured the "crater". It's where they filmed one of the scenes in 127 hours.

Jake and I went to General Conference sunday morning... I have to admit I tried REEEALLLLY hard not to sleep through it. It's so warm and comfy in there. I loved it though. The spirit was so strong. We listened to the 2nd session over at Mark and Rosemaries (Jake's aunt & uncle). My favorite was Richard G. Scott's talk on marriage. You could feel the love he had for his wife in his words. It was so sweet!

5 Months

Crazy to think that Max has only been in our lives for 5 months... I cannot even remember my life before him!

He smiles ALL of the time! It's very rare that he isn't smiling or laughing.
He can roll from his tummy to his back but not his back to his tummy.
When I lay him on his tummy he tries SO hard to crawl.
He loves to watch mommy get ready in the morning.
I've tried to get him interested in watching baby Einstein or some kind of movie but he'd way rather watch mommy and daddy
He goes to bed around 8-9 and wakes up around 5 to be fed... I am really looking forward to him sleeping through the night!

We celebrated V-day this year on Saturday due to work schedules and baby sitters... V-day is one of my favorite holidays! It made it even more special this year with another person in my life to love like crazy... this little guy.

We started off the evening by going to the BYU vs Utah game. It was awesome! I forgot how intense these things are. I got chills of adrenalin!

It got a little loud in there so daddy made sure Max's ears were protected!

He fell asleep half way through the game... He was worn out from all the excitement!

After the game Auntie Ness came over and watched Max for us so we could go out to a nice dinner (thank you ness!)... My restaurant of choice? Happy Sumo! Their Vegas roll and schezwan chicken are to die for.

The Riverwoods is so pretty this time of year! We loved looking at the lights and getting warm by the outdoor fire.

I got myself a variety of sorbets for dessert. Notice Jake's spoon isn't being used... that's because he officially started his diet again.

There is nothing better than coming home to this face! He was so happy and excited to see mama and daddy!!

The plan was for me to stay home with my sweet boy... But life changes and that's okay.

Jake graduated last month and is on the job search... Actually has a few interviews lined up... Fingers crossed! So here I am back at work! It's actually not as bad as I thought... and we are very blessed because I've only been back here for about 3 weeks and in that time I was promoted to be the Assistant Manager and now I am the Manager! It's kind of on a trial basis to see if I like it and if it's something that I want to do. But so far so good. It's actually not as hard as I thought it would be to be a working mama. I miss my baby more than anything but I have to remind myself that I am doing this for him! Plus it's kind of fun to feel like the big bad boss:)

Max a million

Baby Max is 1 week shy of being 3 months

At his 2 month check up he weighed 14 lbs 1 oz

He is fitting in all of his 6-9 month clothes

He's starting to laugh and giggle

He loves being held and rocked, bounced or any other type of movement

He only cries when he's hungry or uncomfortable

He sleeps through most of the night, usually wakes up once or twice to be fed

He doesn't really like sleeping in his crib... something I am working on... anyone have tips?

I feel very lucky to have such an easy, good baby. Of course we have our moments... but that's all part of being a mommy! I love my baby!

We flew out to California for our Christmas vacation. We spent it with Suber and Jim in Pleasanton (a town very close to San Francisco). Max had his first airplane ride. He was such a good boy! I was so nervous but he ended up being perfect. (Our festive sweater party post below this one)

For Thanksgiving we went to St. George and spent the holiday with my family. Since 10 out of the 11 kids were home we did a little family picture.

I love the days when I feel like I'm getting the hang of being a mommy... Yesterday I cleaned the house, did the laundry, bathed the baby, went to the gym and made dinner. Of course there are still the days when I feel like I have 100 things to do and not enough time to do them. Good thing I have a rad husband who helps me! Max is officially 6 weeks old tomorrow. I packed up all of his newborn clothes today and it made me realize how quickly they grow, and how I should cherish each moment with him.

Jake and I go to St. George for thanksgiving on monday and I am SO excited! Most of my family hasn't met Max yet and I am looking forward to showing him off!

I wish I had some pictures but I don't know how to upload them onto Jake's computer.

We'll take a lot over thanksgiving and I'll do a big post after the holiday.

Suber and Jim came into town over the weekend... I always love their visits! We did the usual... Sit around our place and talk, did some fine dining, and of course Suber obsessing over Max.

On saturday Suber invited me to go with them to Roosevelt to see Jim's daughter, Allison, and her little family. It was really fun! I thought there wouldn't be much to do, but there was a big craft fair that Allison wanted to show us. She also took us to a boutique that was full of cute things! I picked up a pair of boots and Suber bought me a shirt.

We miss them already.

There have been two big victories in our family this week...

My sister Maria had her baby, a little girl named Ivy. She is beautiful.

And Jake's uncle Mike is now the State Senator! We're so excited for him.

Aside from all of that my life pretty much constists of Max, Max and more Max. I love being a mom. What did I do before I had a child? Seriously.

This is pretty much what my life consists of these days... I wouldn't have it any other way.

Sometimes I wonder why I can't get more done since he sleeps so much!

My birthday was on October 4th, but with all of the excitement and craziness of Max coming into our lives I haven't had a chance to blog about it! Jake organized a dinner for me at CPK.

Max's Birthday Story

I'm sitting next to Jake holding my sleeping baby right now and I am so happy. Jake is singing a song to him about Dinosaurs and Grizzly Bears and how "they better not mess with the Max."

Here is the story:

On Thursday the 7th, Jake and I went to the hospital in Payson at 6 am. I was to be induced, and we were very excited. I only had to get through an hour or so of strong contractions before I was given my epidural, my wonderful epidural. At that point I was dilated to a 3- then two hours later I was at an 8..
The Doctor was called in, and then it was Go-Time! My labor, thankfully, was very fast (about 15 minutes) and there were no complications. The Doctor, Grandmas and Nurses were amazed at how easily Max was delivered.

Speaking of Max- seeing him for the first time was unreal. I can't believe how instantly I fell in love with my baby. The whole delivery was such a humbling and emotional experience for both Jake and I. It was so amazing.

They wheeled me off to a recovery room where I mostly slept and held my baby. It was an awesome day.

But the next morning at about 7 we heard a knock on the door. The pediatrician, whom we had never met, introduced himself and said... "I am concerned about your baby." I will never forget those words. My heart sank. The pediatrician told us Max's femoral pulse was weak, almost undetectable. ...basically what this indicated that there was something wrong with his heart, and if it didn't get fixed, it could be fatal. This news was, of course, very very hard to hear.

The pediatrician and his team tried several times to find that pulse, and did as many tests as they could but had no success. Jake, with the help of his Uncle Brett, gave Max a sweet blessing. Brett was encouraging and nice, and with the best of intentions assured us that "if there was a real problem, they'd be rushing a helicopter over to him right away."

So when the nurse later came in to tell us that Life Flight was coming to pick up Max... that was when things felt very scary, very quickly . This is still hard to talk about.

Jake and his Mom took off immediately in the car, so they could meet Max when he arrived at Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake. Max was so tough and great, didn't cry when they put in his IV, and probably had a blast up high in the air.

Here's the part of the story that I hope I can adequately explain. I was in Payson, unable to leave (still had to recover, the delivery was less than a day ago) Jake was en route to Salt Lake. We couldn't be with our baby... all we could do was pray, and trust in the Lord. Jake kept saying to me "faith over fear" and I was trying so hard to be faithful.

As I waited in my hospital bed, I think I checked my phone about every 5 seconds... just waiting for a call or a text. Finally I got a call from Jake. I broke into tears of gratitude. Our prayers had been answered. The blessing worked. Max's pulse appeared, it was strong and healthy. They did an ultrasound of his heart and saw it beating perfectly.

I'm crying now as I think about it, and now I just feel so grateful.

I feel like I should definitely say a big sincere thank you. To the doctors at Mountain View and Primary Children's for caring about my son enough to get things checked right away. To the comforting Life Flight people. To all the those who were praying with us- for Brett who came to exercise his priesthood with Jake. To my mom for being my comfort when I couldn't be with my baby or my husband and Jake's mom for being there for us with so much care. Our Mom's have done SO much for us. I am so thankful for my husband who holds the priesthood and was able to give our son a powerful blessing. And to Vanessa, Carole, and all our other family and friends that care about Max and me, who have given us kind words of congratulations and made me smile so much.

This has been a great experience. Max is wonderful and I love him very much.

On Friday Jake had his 28Th birthday. We went to dinner at Happy Sumo and then we had some friends over for dessert and played werewolf until the wee hours of the night.

Jake and his friends always talked about doing pinewood derby- and it happened! Let me just say how proud I am of Jake for organizing it and putting the whole thing together! He is awesome. There were 30 "drivers." The winners took home big money and Outback gift certificates. It was a huge party- There was good food, good music, intense races, and most importantly good company... we have great friends!

Last weekend Jake and I went down to St. George because my mom and sister Julia threw me a fabulous baby shower.

Pregnancy Update

::I had my 34 week appointment today... Everything looks perfect!

::Jake and I registered at babies r us today for another shower I am having this weekend... It was so overwhelming! Babies need so much.

::I used to think that restless leg syndrome was kind of a joke... But I am here to tell you that it's real, and I suffer from it! Anyone have any r.l.s. remedies?

So I've noticed that NOBODY comments on my blog anymore! But I don't blame you... It's an extremely boring blog. Ever since our camera broke I have no motivation to get on this thing anymore. But I have some good news... we just bought a new camera! YAY! So I'll be looking forward to getting some nice little notes..

Things that have been happening lately..

::I am 32 going on 33 weeks and definitely feeling it! It's getting harder to do everything... Bending down, breathing, sleeping, moving... My feet and ankles were a little swollen the other day, but they went back down THANK HEAVENS! I hate having swollen feet! It's so ugly.

:: about 4 or 5 weeks ago I had to take the glucose test (where you drink that yucky orange sugar water) and my numbers were high... Fortunately they weren't high enough for me to have to do any other testing, but the my doctor told me not to eat any sugar. He told me I can have fruit.. So if I'm in need of anything sweet I'll indulge with an apple or grapes. Does anyone know of any delicious sugar free snacks? Help a girl out!

:: I've been really good about going to the gym... I usually make it 4 or 5 times a week, but this week has been HARD! I haven't gone once. I need to get on the ball! Even though I'm obviously putting on weight, I'm hoping that once this baby is out all the pregnancy workouts will pay off and help me shed the baby lbs!

:: We had our Nelson reunion last weekend in Brigham City at a hot springs resort... I loved it! I love seeing my cousins that I grew up with that I rarely see now-a-days.

:: On monday Jake and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! It was spent laying out by the pool, enjoying a yummy lunch, making a trip to costco, and having a nice dinner in Park City! We took pictures but in the process of Jake adjusting camera settings they all got deleted... but I'm sure there will be many more to come :)

I can't believe we have only been married 2 years! I can't remember what my life was like before Jake. I feel so incredibly blessed/thankful/honored/lucky to be married to the best

person I have ever met. I love you more than anything Jakey!!

Last Saturday was definitely one of those days I'll never forget! Aside from it just being a good day... I got to hang out with Jake, we got massages (2-for-1's at the Massage College), got some yummy food, and went camping, we also MET THE PROPHET! It was so awesome! We stopped at a gas station on our way up to the campsite, and inside the gas station was President Monson! I walked up to him and I have no recollection of what I said, but he gave me a hug and asked my name and where I am from... He was so nice! Definitely a milestone in my life.

On a sad note, Jake's camera broke. I am bummed because we can't document all of the fun things we're doing... but kind of glad because what 7 month pregnant girl wants pictures? I certainly don't!

Let's catch up...

About a week or so ago I went to New York to visit Jake. It was so awesome! I hadn't seen him in about 6 weeks so it was heavenly to be able to be with him again. Jake showed me a such a great time... We went to a few shows on Broadway, went to a concert in central park, walked canal street, went to the upright citizens brigade, ate at some really delicious places, we got frozen hot chocolate from serendipity, I ate about 27 ice cream cones... we did a lot! I'm so happy I was able to experience NY with my husband!

Jake did amazing at the firm he was interning for and was offered a job! He still has one more semester of school left so we'll see what happens. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the city.

I am now 25 weeks pregnant and feeling great. I really can't complain! I think working full time helps... It keeps me busy and takes my mind off of any aches or fatigue.

Jake got home yesterday and I am so happy. He was exhausted from the flight and travel but he still took me out on a date. I have missed my date nights with him!

And one last thing... if you haven't voted yet go out and vote for Jake's uncle and your next senator, Mike Lee!

Happy Mothers Day to my lovely Mom!

She is absolutely amazing... Raised (and is still raising) 11 kids, she is the smartest person that I know, she is a convert and has a strong testimony of the gospel, she loves her kids and her grandkids more than anything, she is kind, patient, honest and loyal... along with endless great qualities. Whenever any of us girls were whining or complaining her motto was "Slap on a pad and get on with life!" I always try to be more like when her when I am feeling bad for myself. Love you so much Mom!

And happy mothers day to my 2ND mom!

I don't think I could've gotten more lucky with a mother-in-law...

She raised 3 wonderful kids... Including my perfect husband! She has the sweetest heart, she is able to talk to anyone and make them feel like the most important person in the world, she has an unwavering testimony of the gospel, she is beautiful, she will be the best Grandma to baby Max! I've been so bad with blogging! Ever since moving we haven't had the Internet... But we finally got it! A lot has happened these last few weeks... Jake went to a concert in Vegas with his cousin Connor and friend Scottie.. They had a blast! I stayed in St. George with my family and got to catch up with old friends, it was great.

This week Jake's mom, Suber, came into town so that she could be with us when we found out the sex of our baby... we are having a perfect, healthy little BOY! All you mothers or mothers-to-be out there know what I mean when I say that it is absolutely AMAZING to see your baby for the first time.

Jake and I thought we would never agree on a name for a boy, but with some help from his mom, grandma and sister, we finally picked one: Max! Jake thinks it's short for "maximum awesomeness" but I just think it's perfect. So we are excited to meet Max Rothfels in just over four months.

A lot of people have been asking me to put on a picture of my baby bump but I don't have one yet! I want one, but I guess I just need to keep waiting. I can tell my stomach looks different, it's definitely bigger, but nobody else can tell quite yet. But I promise to put on a picture as soon as Max comes out of hiding!

received a new calling today, I am now a primary teacher! I'm excited about it. I hope I do a good job.

Jake leaves for New York tomorrow morning. He'll be home in (a hopefully short) 7 weeks. Today has been hard for me... But I'm trying to be tough! We had a going away BBQ for him yesterday...Here are a few pictures from that!

Jake and I moved into our condo! We love it... It's really nice having a second bedroom, and having a washer and dryer is amazing! I haven't even used the dishwasher yet... I'm so used to trying to not use alot of dishes that we've only dirtied about 3 since moving in. We had no heat or hot water until today but it wasn't as bad as I thought... Kind of felt like camping for a few days. But today it is on! I will never take hot showers for granted again! Aside from moving our lives have been pretty uneventful... Jake has been skiing quite a bit and throwing his double back flips and tricks like nobody's business! My life consists of work, sleep, comfy's and trying to figure out what food sounds good. I won't bore everyone with my pregnancy symptons... But I do have to say that I've been pretty lucky! It's been a breeze... For the most part anyway. It'll be nice to actually get our ultrasound this month and know that I am definitely pregnant. We heard the heartbeat which was so sweet and reassuring, but I still need proof! I'll probably post a belly picture when I'm further along, but you can't really tell right now. As of this week I'll be 14 weeks! Only about 100 more... I swear pregnancy drags on!

I have some exciting news! Jake and I found a condo that we love, and we are moving in April 1st. We can't wait to actually have a dishwasher! It also has a second room that will be needed for the baby... Most of you already know, but for those of you who don't, I am pregnant! We are so happy... and of course a little nervous! Our lives have kind of been consumed with work, school, housing and the baby these last couple of months... But we are heading down to St. George this weekend! We are looking forward to being in some nice weather and spending some time with my family. I'll update with pictures after the trip! :)

Well folks, it's official... Jake is going to New York for his internship! Right in the heart of the city. He ships out April 20th and will be gone for 7 weeks. I'm not going with him for a few reasons... But the main one being that it would be really difficult to find a job in New York for 7 weeks, and then expect my old job to take me back. Of course I'm already planning a trip out there to visit him though. It will be hard to be away for so long... but such is life:)

On another note, Jake and I went to Las Vegas/ St. George for one of my best friends wedding. She looked stunning and they are such an awesome couple. We're so excited for them!

I am so thankful for sundays!! If it weren't for sundays I would never have the time to update my blog... And I'm thankful for weekends for giving me some things to update my blog with.

Saturday we went to Classic Skating to wish Alex a final farewell before he leaves us for Australia. Jake and I started out on skates, but since we both pride ourselves on our rollerblading skills we made a little upgrade... Which in my case was pointless because I guess I'm not good at rollerblading either :(Me and AllisonThankful that Jake was there to pull me around the rink.Our last group shot for a while...On Friday Jake and da boys went to a Brand New & Manchester Orchestra concert.

He kept telling me how glad he was that I didn't go because of all the moshing and people going nuts... I am also very glad I didn't go!

Suber and Jim also came into town on Saturday for Jim's daughter, Alli's birthday... We are so happy we got to see them!

I feel like I've had a bloggers block this past week... Life has just been..life. But this past weekend was SO much fun. I really needed a little boost!

Friday: My sweet friends Jessica & Tacee came into town, we got some frozen yogurt and went back to my house and just talked like old times. They live in Salt Lake, it's nice to have friends somewhat close.

Saturday: My hottie hubband, myself, Caleb, Annie and Alex (we missed you Morgana!) all went up to Park City for the snowboarding half pipe competion and then went to a 30 Seconds to Mars concert. I have never been a fan, I actually didn't even know what songs they sang, but it was such a fun concert and I like their music... even though Jared Leto thinks he is awesome. It was so fun! I love Park City!

This guy crouching down was nuts! He was so funny. We had no idea who he was but he wanted to take pictures with us and requested that we hold the American flag and Americas first flag. He also requested that we take a "silly" picture. Ha... I love meeting meeting people like this.Annie and Caleb being cute!

Sunday: Annie and Caleb hosted a going away pizza party for Alex. Alex is going to Australia to finish his Masters degree! His wife is finishing here at BYU so she'll be around a few more months before she joins him. We are so excited for them! Australia is such a dream! We made the pizza and it turned out delish. Such a great group of friends we have. We brought the camera but I guess forget to whip it out and take some pictures! Shoot!

My little brothers Dan and John have been in town all week for the Snowball Tennis Tournament! It has been a very fun, and very busy week! I haven't been able to watch them play because of my work schedule, but on saturday night we went to Park City for the Moguel Skiing finals!

This starts tomorrow! I really hope Jake isn't a cheeseball on this show.. He's sweet but sometimes he's a little too much. I told myself I wouldn't watch this season, but come on... How can you not!?

Today I am so thankful for my husband. Super cheesy I know, but it's the time to give thanks, right? Below are some of the things that I am thankful for.

The way he makes me laugh (especially when he turns on "Just like a prayer" by Madonna in the morning and does a full on dance routine)

His kindness.

His patience.

How understanding he is.

How I know that no matter what he'd always be on my side.

His testimony.

How he tucks me in everynight.

That he teaches me new things every single day.

That even though he hates tv he is ok with me watching it all the time.. Especially my trashy shows.

That he thinks I'm funny.

That he still thinks I'm pretty in the morning when my hair is insane and no makeup.

That he doesn't get frustrated when I can't do simple things {cook a grilled cheese sandwich, open up things that have child protection, don't worry though, he is teaching me}

On thursday night the band Love You Long Time played their final show! Jake, myself and most of the crew went. It was so fun... I'm sad to see them go!

Then on saturday my aunt Amanda organized a lovely holiday boutique! There were alot of different vendors, Amanda sold clothing, hats, scarves, bags, pretty much everything you could ever want or need! My mother in law sold fabulous jewelry, watches, cards and ribbon. Other vendors sold makeup and hair products, goodies for babes, food and cooking recipes... It was quaint and nicely put together. I helped my mother in law all day, and it was a great turn out! Not to mention I picked myself up a few items... Including...

Trip down to St. George

Over the weekend Jake and I decided to go down to St. George. My sister Sara was in town with her new baby (they live in Arizona) and we never get to see them! So we left friday after I got off of work, stayed saturday, and drove back up early sunday to go to one of our good friends baby blessing. On saturday night we went to Aida out at Tuahcahn. It was so good! We brought my little brother John, and my sister Maria with us. I'm so glad they came! My Sister Sara, husband Reed, and two of their three kids, Kalaya and Aurora. Their older boy Levi was M.I.A for this picture! Jake has a thing for corn!

Today Jake and I, and our friends Jeff and Allison took a drive up Provo Canyon. Utah is so beautiful in the fall. I love seeing the leaves change color, and I love the smell of outside. It's definitely my favorite time of year.

Wow... Where have 23 years of my life gone?! It's so crazy to me how quickly people grow up. It feels like yesterday that I was hangin out with my posse' in St. George. I have to say though, this 23rd birthday of mine was probably the best yet. Since my birthday fell on a sunday, Jake and I decided to do most of the celebrating on saturday. He took me shopping, and then we went to eat at Happy Sumo. Jake does a really good job of making me feel like a princess. Then on saturday after the first session of conference, Jake surprised me with some perfume. I was so happy cause I really needed some. Later on that night, some friends of ours had a little party for me and one of the other wives, Annie. Annie and I, the birthday girls.

We've had a great week! On thursday we celebrated Jake's 27th birthday! My baby is getting old! We went to Tucano's with some friends, it was a pretty relaxed birthday. Jake didn't want to do anything over the top, which made it easy for me!

I'm sad to say goodbye to summer :( Jake and I were really spoiled over the last few months! We did alot of fun stuff. But now it's back into the daily grind of school and work. Well, I guess not for me because I've been working all along.. haha. But since Jake had his knee surgery he couldn't work and had to take the summer semester off. But now he's been working and buried with home work. Although, I must say it's kind of nice being back into a routine.

The doc says that Jake and start skiing again in January. I can really tell he's dying to get back out there. Hopefully it doesn't do anymore damage! I can't have a crip!

Labor Day Weekend!

For this labor day weekend we went to Moab with some friends, and now we are hanging up our Moab boots for the summer :(Moab just isn't Moab unless you repell off of the corona arch! Lincoln, Elissa, Vanessa (sister in law) and myself.

We did a little hiking at Negro Bill's Canyon.

It was so nice having Vanessa and her friend Elissa there. They are such awesome girls.

Anniversary and Colorado!

On sunday Jake and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary!!! It was sooo rad!

( I always put on way too many pictures, sorry!)

Started things off by floating down the Colorado river with some floaties from wal-mart! Went to a billabong up in the Mountains... I was fooled into thinking the water was nice and warm.

The boys! Jake's cousin, Connor, in the middle... Scottie on the right and Devin on the left. Fun guys to road trip with! Playing some mini golf in downtown Glenwood springs. Getting a hole in one... No big deal. Me and my hottie.
Front row seats at the Red Rocks ampitheatre!! It was unreal. Kings of Leon is AMAZING. I honestly think that experience will never be topped.

The set list! They crumbled this up and threw it into the crowd.

This picture doesn't do it justice! The red rocks is such an awesome place. We had such a blast and I'm so happy that I got to spend it with my best friend and the love of my life. I can't wait for all of the many more adventures that are in store for us. I love you sweetie.

Deyton Kash Soresen

My friend Krystal and her husband Derek lost their baby Deyton Kash on sunday due to a heart condition. My heart breaks for them. To read his story you can go to his blog babydeyton.blogspot.com. His funeral is today and I wish that I could make it down to St. George to support her and her family, but unfortunately our schedules won't allow us to go.

I want Derek and Krystal to know that my prayers are with them! I hope that they can feel at peace knowing that they will see their baby again.

This has made me realize how blessed we are to have the gospel in our lives. To know that families are eternal and knowing that in the end we will all be together is so comforting. The Lord has a plan for everyone and sometimes we may not understand why we have such hard trials, but there is a reason.

Fun things lately...

Despite the fact that I have been extremely busy lately, Jake and I have managed to squeeze in a bit of fun. All the "marrieds" and uncle Josh, and Jake's bf from Washington, Kluh, went up the provo canyon and had a bonfire and made tinfoil dinners, smores, and scary stories! All the wives! Went to St. George and saw these adorable babies! I love them!! I didn't get a pic of my other nieces and nephews, but I am obsessed with all of them!My little brother Sam came into town, which was awesome... And we all went to an Incubus concert. I wasn't super into Incubus before the concert, but they put on a good show, and are even better live.

Bon Iver played a concert at the Gallivan center in Salt Lake. I love his music!

In other news, I passed an important test for work. And now I am so relieved! Jake got a new calling in church, he is now the Gospel Doctrine teacher! I am so glad. Jake is an amazing teacher, so it'll be fun to be able to sit and listen to him.

Good news!

So I have some good news to report... I got a new job! And I absolutely love it. It's at a place called American Laser Center. They do laser hair removal, photofacials, velashape, and a bunch of other procedures. I started last monday and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm going to keep working at De'leon a few days a week. I feel really lucky.

In other good news, Jake and I are down in St. George for a couple of days! Woohoo!

Break me off a piece of that.... vacation!

Last week Jake and I went to California to hang out with Suber (Jake's mom) and Jim (Suber's husband). Seriously, such an awesome, much needed vacation. We hung out at their house in Modesto Ca. for the first couple of days... Then went to Mission Veijo for a day, then boarded our cruise in San Diego. If anyone hasn't gone on a cruise, I think you should make it a goal to go on one. Here are some pics. Enjoy. Sorry there are kind of alot! Me and Suber just hanging out by her pool. Her house is so beautiful. I can't wait to go back and visit! Jake crutched half way across the Golden gate bridge! I'm such a proud wife. Suber and I! This was my first time in San Fran. It's such a cool place. Except Alcatraz freaks me out. We went to Pier 1 in San Fran. We saw the seals, got some lunch and went...to the most amazing candy shop. Mmmm.Jake, Ness and I at the beach in Mission Veijo. We went and walked around the Spectrum mall and shopped and saw "transformers". Suber and Jim gave Jim's son, Adam, this surf board for his graduation gift. This is when we first got on the ship... This is a picture of a picture. Apparently doing this is illegal. We are such rebels. First dinner on the ship. Karaoke night! Jake told me that I had to get up there and sing a song of a his choice... I agreed thinking that it'd be a cool song that I like (it helped that there were only like 2 other people in the karaoke room) Jake's song of choice? "The thong song". Jake sang "Mr. Jones" by the counting crows. He actually did a really good job. Such a crowd pleaser! We spent the day in Ensanada. Jake and I got bracelets with each others name on them, and I got some sweet shades. I also got this Diet Coke Light. Mmmm!
Karaoke night again... Subes and I sang "I got you babe" by Sonny and Cher. I can't sing but Subes did a nice job.
Jake and I at the hypnotist show. It was hilarious.

Time to leave... We miss that ship. We hope to see you again.

In other news, Jake is supposed to be off crutches next week... Hopefully it won't be too much longer. I got a job that I've wanted for a long time. I'm so happy about it. I'll still work at the spa part time though. I am so sad that Jillian kicked Michael off of the bachelorette. He was the best! But I'm glad that Ed came back. He was my original fave.

We finally got our house clean today and did all of our laundry... I love having a clean house! Once again, I'm sorry for this extremely long post.

It's been a while! Considering that Jake is a cripple, we've had a really fun month thus far.

Our cousin Marc took us out on his boat... Since Jake can't tear it up he was captain of the ship... (a hot captain)

It was Chuck and Julie's birthday on friday, so we had a little celebration for them... Went and got some Thai food, which was delish... Then played some games.

Here are Jake's before and after pictures. He looked good before (he was blowing out and trying to look miserable), but he is smokin hot now!!

He started on Febraury 8th, and we took the After pictures on May 23rd. He lost 36 lbs in 16 weeks! He sent these into bodybuilding.com and won "Transformation of the week". I'm so proud of my baby.

Poor wittle guy... This has pretty much been him the whole time since surgery

We've both been sleeping on our couches because Jake is too afraid of me kicking/cuddling with him and hurting his leg. Walking to the fridge or bathroom has been the extent of movement he has made. Except today he managed to take a shower!

My brothers John, Dan and my Dad are all in town for John's tennis tournament. They've been staying with us so it's been a full house these last few days! John has won all his matches! Good job Johnny boy!

Jake went in for his knee surgery on wednesday! Everything went perfectly and we're glad that it's all over. Now he just needs to heal up! After the procedure he was still pumped full of anesthesia and he was acting hilarious! I took a video of it, and I tried to post it on here but it's not working.. So you'll just have to take my word for it. Since surgery he's pretty much either been passed out on the couch (his pain medication knocks him right out, I'm tempted to take some..:) or he's been playing xbox. I was sooo tired! We got there at like 7:30am... The nurse kept bringing in warm blankets... So I couldn't resist the comfy bed.

That's what St. George is to me... Jake and I were lucky enough to get work off sun-wed, and it was definitely worth it. The weather was sunny and so nice. We went to The Green Valley Spa on monday, and I got painfully fried... I did put sunscreen on my face and neck, but it didn't do a whole lot. We took these pictures before Jake's camera died. These are the only one's we took :(

We also went to Sand Hollow and jumped off some of the cliff's. Thanks for making it fun family! I love you guys! Now it's back to work and reality! Dan doing a "Misty"Catching some rays! (being a horrible example of an esthetician.. oops!)

John tried over 37 times to do a "Misty" and despite Jake's efforts, he couldn't quite get it down.
